Our culture accepts pain and immobility as a natural part of aging, yet it is anything but natural. Many other cultures have thriving, helpful and active senior populations and it isn’t just because of their diets. It’s because they move. Not just 1-2 times a week in a senior fitness class, but they really MOVE. They walk everywhere in flat shoes—

Wherever he needs to go, he walks.

—they squat, they carry, they sit on the ground…

I reckon she doesn’t have to wear adult diapers.

Many of the common problems associated with aging are entirely preventable, and oftentimes reversible if you’re already suffering. It can be frightening and depressing to lose independence, and the struggle to pay for the cornucopia of pharmaceuticals prescribed for seniors is stressful and scary.

Our children’s poor alignment and inactivity is a rapidly developing crisis of epidemic proportions. Obesity is only one horrible problem that plagues our nation’s kids. The other? Alignment of their skeletons.

Youngsters of days long ago walked far, carried much, climbed trees and sat on the ground. Not so much anymore—

So unnatural. So very sad.

No matter how much calcium a child ingests, if they don’t participate in lots of all day, every day natural human movement (such as walking), their bodies won’t create enough bone material to see them through their adulthood. They cannot support their own bodies. Sitting all day in class, then riding home and sitting on the couch or in front of the computer—that’s too much sitting and not enough of anything else. And don’t think that a weekend soccer game and practice twice a week will solve the problem. Aside from too much inactivity and not enough walking, a slouching kid’s internal organs are terribly compromised. And if you’ve got a kid who is hunched over his iPad all the time, I can guarantee that he is not getting enough blood to his brain. Is that what you want? Kids need to have proper alignment now for a healthy life later.
